United Nationsis an international organization made up of almost all of the world’s independent countries.It was formed to prevent war and to build a better world through international action.The United Nations (UN) constitution is known as the Charter.It was signed at San Francisco, California, on June 26, 1954 by representatives of the countries that participated in the United Nations Conference on International Organization.The six principle organs of the UN are named in the Charter with their functions and powers.They are the General Assembly, the Security Council, the Economic and Social Council, the Trusteeship Council, the Secretariat, and the International Court of Justice.
